I’m joining Neuralink in South San Francisco as a software engineering intern on the Infrastructure team, from August 31 to December 2026. Neuralink builds an implanted brain-computer interface, a device that reads neural activity and turns it into intent so someone who can’t move can control a computer directly.

The Infrastructure team runs a mix of cloud and on-premise systems for a user base spanning engineers, scientists and doctors. The work reaches from provisioning physical machines on the manufacturing line up to the tooling that captures recordings from implants.

Preparation

What I’m reading and working through before I start: the infrastructure stack, and the brain-computer interface material underneath it. I haven’t started yet, so nothing here comes from inside the company.
